Reformer Pilates

Reformer sessions are held at Bridge Health and Wellbeing in Christchurch.

Similar to Mat Pilates, the reformer improves strength particularly in the core, but also the back, glutes and thighs, it improves flexibility and balance as well as focus, co-ordination, Proprioception (where you are in space) posture, overall body alignment and awareness as the machine gives you constant feedback.

You are constantly moving under a load and you have to control and move smoothly, it boosts endurance and challenges the entire body.

It’s great if you have a weakness because you can work out under load with the movement and load tailored exactly to you.

Suitable for all ages, body types and levels of fitness, whether you’re an athlete an office worker, brand new to exercise or getting back into it, rehabbing an injury, or if you have back, hip, knee or ankle mobility issues, - beneficial movement patterns can be performed that will increase overall body strength and flexibility to fit your needs and goals with the movements and loads tailored exactly to your body and its needs.

If you have never been on the Reformer before but want to give it a go - you can book in for a half an hour taster session to introduce you to the machine and feel how it works.
